When Little Ladybug was around 4 months old, I discovered a local music class run by Hillary and Stacey of
Hartbeeps. This is the one baby group that I have been loyal to over the last years. It is on Monday mornings so it helps to start the week off active and keeps us from being sad that Mr L (aka Daddy) is back at work. I met a couple of my really good friends at this class and have enjoyed watching our children get older together. When it was time to head back to work after maternity leave, Little Ladybug went to a childminder that I met at Hartbeeps. These days I get to take her every Monday to the "Happy House" session that is designed for toddlers to 4 years old. Little siblings are welcome so now Bumblebee Boy comes too.
There is normally a group of loyal mothers and children that come every week but a couple weeks ago we went and we were the only ones there. A little strange because never has happened before but we had a wonderful time. Rachel is currently running the classes since Stacey is on maternity leave.
We played with bubbles while hoping for other to join us. We did the normal "welcome" song, played with the gold sunshine and sung "You Are My Sunshine". The theme for the day was "teddy bear picnic". So Rachel and Little Ladybug put down the blanket for the picnic. Soon the teddy bears and bugs joined us. There was plenty of teacups and large teapots. Little Ladybug had lots of fun pouring Rachel, teddy bears and me tea. The black and white cat came to visit and Bumblebee Boy enjoyed looking at him.
Even though we missed the other mothers and children, we had lot of fun. I was really special to have a hour to just focus on playing. I am grateful for this "ordinary moment" with my children. Afterwards, it was time to visit the coffee shop for a cookie.
Ah this sounds like a really lovely group. There isn't anything really around here for older ones (4 years) and I do miss the groups we used to attend. There are a couple but because they are few and far between they are always so busy! It's a strange age to try and cater for I guess- I miss the baby groups so much!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely group and sounds like you had a great time all there. I miss all the baby groups I went to with Buba and it's harder for the older yet younger than school age kids. Lovely photos. Thank you so much for linking up to Share With Me #sharewithme
