#ChooseBeautiful

While browsing Twitter, I discover an article by Lamb & Bear that spoke about the Dove #ChooseBeautiful marketing campaign. I understand it is a marketing campaign to promote Dove soap but it still made me cry and think about how I view myself and my daughter.

I love discovery new blogs and really enjoy learning about other people's lives.  There is a blogger that I truly admire whom has a blog filled with beautiful photos of her girls, home, and life adventures.  She has won several blogging awards and is a successful business woman. I know that her life has challenges like everyone but sometimes hard to acknowledge it. I was reading this admired blog the other day and said to my husband "I need to stop reading this blog because it makes me feel inadequate and ordinary". His loving response was "Let's (feeling) what we face everyday".

I am extremely blessed to have two beautiful children and loving husband. My life has been filled with moments of sadness and some very hard life choices but it has not been "ordinary".  Just as I should not feel inadequate.  I would be the mother pushing her daughter through the "beautiful" door because without a doubt she is. But why would I feel that I should walk through the "average" door? My husband is right that I do struggle daily to not feel inadequate or ordinary but I am the only person that can change these feelings. Today, I choose to believe that I can accomplish my goals and that I am not ordinary. I choose Beautiful.

Would you choose "Beautiful" or "Average"?

  1. I would like to think I'd be confident enough to choose beautiful but I know I'd walk through the average door #ShareWithMe

  2. Our first thought when arriving at your page was "what a beautiful blog!" Then we read the post...lol. You are definitely NOT average! My mummy compares herself to a lot of other VERY successful bloggers all the time, and recently in some of her posts. Its natural to do it xxx #BrilliantBlogPosts

  4. I think there are alot of people who can relate to your post-- myself included. I catch myself comparing myself to others on social media and have to really turn that off! Whether it is fitness, fashion or motherhood... something that I have really started to work on. We are all beautiful in our own individual ways!

  5. It means so much to me that my post inspired you to think about what you would choose. Too many of us think of ourselves as average, when we are all beautiful in our own unique way. Our children are what make us beautiful xxx
