I feel that children bring the magic into Christmas. Before my Little Ladybug (LL) came along I was finding that Christmas was enjoyable day with family but it had lost the magic that I felt as a child. Since I spent most of my life in the USA, I often would normally work on Christmas Eve and would only have Christmas Day off before heading back to office or retail store on December 26th.
I could feel the magic coming back to the Christmas season as we prepared for Little Ladybug's 1st Christmas. We continued my family's tradition of making sure she would have her own Christmas tree. We spent Thanksgiving with my family in the USA that year so I made felt ornaments with my Mother for Little Ladybug's Tree.
I was so excited to wake up Christmas morning to share the excitement of Christmas with Little Ladybug. Santa left her Christmas stocking next to her cot ready for when she woke up. She loved pulling the items out of the stocking and we played with the items on the bed until "Daddy" was dressed and ready to take her downstairs to see the presents.
Santa brought her a rocking ladybug and she crawled quickly to explore it. She needed a little help opening presents but she loved the wrapping paper. There was lots of smiles and happiness that morning.
Officially this is Bumblebee Boy's 2nd Christmas this year but he was only a couple weeks old last year. He slept through the day and his sister opened his presents for him. He has been practicing his "present opening" skills last week for his birthday so I think he will be very excited on Christmas morning this year.
Please head over to Suburban Mum for her Third Day of Christmas post.
