My first copy of an
Ideal Home magazine was given to me by my husband. Within a couple days of meeting him, he know that I was very interested in interior design so he started importing copies of
Ideal Home from England to me in the States. Over the years, I have shipped my collection of
Ideal Home magazines across the world a couple times to make sure I had pile of magazines to review for inspiration.
Starting this September, I thought I would share with my readers a few of my favourite items for each month's edition.
Items for the Home
1. "Tell A Beautiful Story" -
Grey Star Standing Plaque £3.99 from Dunelm - page 13
2.
Weekday Blackboard £88 from Design Vintage - page 40
3.
Artistan Eau De Nil tiles £95 per sq.m. from Laura Ashley - page 86-87

New Discovery
I loved the idea of "
magnetic wallpaper" for a children's room. Featured on page 60 is
Woodland Wallpaper by Sian Zeng sold from Nubie. According to article, you first hang a magnetic liner and then paste on the decorative sheet. The
Woodland Wallpaper by Sian Zeng paper has adorable matching
animal magnets that included flying pigs, hedgehog, frog and Llama. The
Dino Wallpaper by Sian Zeng also has available
Dinosaur magnets. The cost is £248 for a 10-meter roll but I think this would be perfect as feature wall in playroom or corner of a family room.

This month the "High-Street Hero" (page 27) is Nicky Sloan from
Magpie. I am always fascinated to find out more about the creative and business journey that individuals take to create new businesses featuring homewares.
"Magpie produces colourful, vintage-inspired tableware, tableware, gifts and accessories with a distinctly British feel" - Ideal Home, September 2016
There is several collections that I would love in my home but one of my favourite is the
"Retreat" collection with
Hedgehog Doormat,
Retreat Tote Bag and
Retreat Shower Curtain that has an illustration of a cabin in the woods surrounded by trees.
The "Biciletta" collection makes me want to go for scenic bike ride in the country side. Collection with truly charming illustrations. My favourite items are the
Sasha Apron with each bike carry different items, the
Small Cosmetic Bag with the puppy peaking out of the basket on the front and the
Porcelain Tray with the bouquet of flowers.
Love these mid-century style illustrations of chickens, cows, pigs and sheep. These items in pastel colours would bring some farmhouse magic to any kitchen.
I admire that fact Nicky designs and produces homeware products that are vegan-friendly and cruelty free to animals.
THANK YOU for stopping by to read about my favourite items for the September 2016 edition of the
Ideal Home magazine. What is your favourite items from above or from your copy of
Ideal Home?
