After Little Brother and I recently reviewed the Little Learners Book Collection from Parragon Books, I was asked if Big Sister and I would be interested in reviewing the Start Little Learn Big collection that is aimed at 3 to 6 year olds. Big Sister just turned 5 years old so she was the perfect age to discover this book collection. We were given a sneak peak at these new books in this collection that launch date is April 4, 2017.

The first book were are reviewing is Numbers I Know. This book is designed with a cutout that allows for smaller hands to carry around easily. The main theme of this book is practicing writing numbers. It comes with a pen that is able to wipe-clean from the pages and allows children to trace numbers from 1 - 20.
Numbers 1-10 have designed pages that allow for multiple of tracing number but also has small tracing or counting activity. This pages are also good for practicing reading. On the back of each book is series of icon that highlights the key skills that the book hopes to encourage your child to learn. Numbers I Know focuses on skills: Discover Numbers; Practice Handwriting; and Explore My World.
Big Sister enjoyed this book because of the chance to use the dry-erase pen in a book. The pen is secured onto the book with a piece of elastic. She loves being able to trace her letters and then just wipe off the writing. This book is good for my 5 year old because it is does have the 11-20 letters for tracing. There is also some questions on the pages that require counting, addition or subtraction.
The next book that we are reviewing is the Opposites: Lift-the-Flap book. I think most children love books with flaps. There is so something really exciting about see what is hidden under the flap.
This book is all about opposites. There is different real-life scenes throughout the book. For example: playground, farm or zoo. The flaps seem very durable and there is 30 flaps throughout the book. There were some really interesting opposites sets used.
The series of icon the highlight the key skills of this book are shown above as: Discover Opposites; Touch and Explore; and Explore My World.
The final book we are reviewing is I Can Share. This book is filled with colour illustrations and words. Just like the above books above, I am sure that Little Brother will be enjoying this book in the future. I will use this book to teach my toddler son new words but also is perfect for reading practice with Big Sister.
There are 7 different real-life situations to keep children entertained. The book focuses on situations that encourages sharing items and working as a team. There are sentences that are statements but also questions. This book is aimed at learning the skills of: Discover Words; Fun for Little Hands; and I Can Be Polite.
We truly are enjoying this new books. There are all very durable and I am sure will be going on lots of adventures in the car and for after school learning. If you would like to see Big Sister's and my initial reaction to the book collection then please watch her video review below.
We were sent this book as part Book Buddies Program with Parragon Books. All reviews are honest and my own words.
