We have been busy the last couple days creating Halloween DIY Robot Costumes. Last week was the first time in over 3 years that worked away from home while my children was on a school break. I spent most of the week training at a new job while my husband was able to use holiday time to spend the week with our children during their half-term school back. I think he enjoyed making new special memories but I did miss them all tons.
As I shared in last week's Share the Joy post, I grew up with handmade costumes sewn by my mother and I encourage my children to use their imagination to think of new Halloween costume ideas each year. I was surprised on Wednesday when I came home from work to discover that while I was gone that holes were cut in a couple boxes to create the beginnings of robot costumes. Big Sister expressed that she wanted to be a robot for Halloween while Little Brother wanted to be pumpkin robot. The last couple days, we have used my supply of metallic Pinty Plus spray paint to spray the cardboard boxes. Little Brother's box required an orange sponged painting. With some glitter card stock, pipe cleaners, and lots of glue we were able to create this year's Halloween costumes. A quick spray of metallic paints on some black leggings and some new Iridescent Rainbow Trainers finished off Big Sister's costume. Big Sister is excited to head out trick-or-treating this year. What are you or your children dressing up as this Halloween?

What brilliant costumes, Christina - how wonderful that your kids knew what exactly what they wanted to dress up as and enjoyed making their costumes from scratch with you :) #sharethejoylinky
